HO scale model railroad

WN GP7 #102

The rust on the top of the carbody was done using cosmetic sponges dipped into various shades of rust colored artist oils. After removing most of the paint from the sponges by blotting on a paper towel, the sponges were dabbed onto the model going from lighter shades to dark shades. This is a fairly easy technique to achieve a random, pitted look to rust on a area.
