The EMD GP38 is a 4-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between January 1966 and December 1971. The locomotive's power was provided by an EMD 645 16-cylinder engine which generated 2,000 horsepower.
EMD GP38 #350 is one of an order of 8 placed by the Washington Northern in 1970. These have proved to be a very successful model on the WN fleet, and can be seen all over the railroad including frequent visits to the Tideflats District. Frequently used on the various branchline movements throughout the system.
